3-year-olds: The Blue Carnation Experiment

If carnation flowers "drink" blue water, will they turn blue?
That is the question the 3-year-olds asked,
so we conducted an experiment:
                    White carnations in plain water

Adding blue food coloring to the water

Here is the prediction each preschooler made

At the end of the day, here are our carnations -- they are turning blue!

At the end of two days, here are how the carnations look.

At the end of six days, here are how the carnations look.
